Tuscaloosa Man Killed, Woman Injured In Saturday Morning Crash

Here's what we know about a fatal interstate crash early Saturday morning that left a Tuscaloosa man dead and a woman injured.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a man was killed and a woman injured early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the northbound on-ramp of Interstate 359.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media Saturday after that investigators believe the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling from Interstate 20/59 to I-359
when he lost control of the vehicle on the ramp.

The crash occurred at about 2:45 a.m., on Saturday.

Taylor then said the SUV rolled over multiple times before coming to rest against the concrete barrier.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Tuscaloosa, was deceased when officers arrived, Taylor said, while a 23-year-old female passenger from Tuscaloosa was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the man killed has not been publicly identified as of the publication of this story.
