Tuscaloosa Officials Celebrate Kaulton Park Improvements

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday unveiled the newly renovated Kaulton Park during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, District 2 Councilor Raevan Howard, and Lieutenant Cory Burns of the Tuscaloosa Police Department spoke at the event, where they touted the community park's significance.

“We believe in the Kaulton community and the people who live here,” Maddox said. “Words are important, but actions are more important, and the City of Tuscaloosa is keeping our commitment to this community.”

Improvements to the park include a new pavilion with restrooms, a new playground, improved lighting and enhanced security features.

“This is not just a park; this is an investment that will allow our community to keep moving in a positive direction,” Howard said. “Let's keep moving forward.”

Burns grew up in the area and expressed his excitement about the improvements.

“To see this transformation is just astounding," Burns said. "I never dreamed that I would see something like this. Today is a reminder of how far we've come and how far we can go.”
