Tuscaloosa Police Investigating Fatal Wreck On Interstate 359

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles that occurred early Wednesday morning.

TPD said at 7:30 a.m. the northbound lanes of Interstate 359 were closed due to the accident, before going on to say that one person died from their injuries.

TPD confirmed that the initial call of the wreck came in just before 6 a.m.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the crash, which also involved a commercial vehicle, occurred near the 84 mile marker.

No other information regarding the accident has been released at this time.
TPD said northbound traffic from Highway 69 is being diverted to Skyland Boulevard. Drivers can also access I-359 north from Investigator Dornell Cousette Street.
TPD then said drivers coming west on I-20/59 cannot exit onto I-359 at this time.
