TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Public Library will host a Local Author Spotlight event featuring Alabama writer Sonny Brewer, best known for his novel "The Poet of Tolstoy Park."

The program is set for Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the library’s main branch.

Organizers said the evening will include storytelling and conversation with Brewer, whose work has been recognized nationally and is known for exploring themes of memory, place and identity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sonny Brewer to our library, and we are incredibly grateful to the people who worked so generously to make this possible,” TPL Executive Director Jennifer Pearson said.

The free event is open to the public.

Books will be available for purchase and signing through Ernest and Hadley Booksellers.
