Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra To Pay Tribute To Judy Garland

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra is gearing up to host its 2024-25 season with a tribute to the iconic Judy Garland.

The concert, titled "Get Happy: A Judy Garland Celebration," will be held at the historic Bama Theatre on Monday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m.

This represents a return to the Bama Theatre for TSO after a decade-long absence.

Vocalist Joan Ellison will take the stage and deliver a performance that promises to be both authentic and electrifying. TSO says she is known for her ability to capture the essence of Garland, offering a nostalgic journey through the star's iconic repertoire.

The evening will also feature Garland's classic songs, accompanied by big band sounds and Broadway-style flair.
