Tuscaloosa, AL – The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra (TSO) on Thursday announced its season finale concert set for April 29 at the Moody Concert Hall.

Titled "Heroes," the concert will serve as a tribute to the figures who have shaped history through their courage and determination.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will also feature Joseph Schwantner's "New Morning for the World: Daybreak of Freedom," which combines the words of Martin Luther King Jr. with lush orchestral arrangements.

The TSO says Schwantner's piece is not only a musical homage to King but also a reflection on the broader theme of heroism in its many forms. B

Led by Maestro Adam Flatt, the TSO will also perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s "Heroic” Symphony No. 3, "Eroica."

"The 'Heroes' concert is designed to resonate with our community, highlighting the universal values of courage, sacrifice, and hope," TSO Executive Director Natassia Perrin said. "We invite our audience to join us in celebrating not only historical figures but also the everyday heroes who inspire us to achieve greatness in our own lives."

Admission will be free for students.
