“This is another step forward in our efforts to make VA work better for the Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors we are charged with serving,” VA Secretary Doug Collins said in a statement. “Improved facilities, equipment and infrastructure help improve care for Veterans, and these additional funds will enable VA to achieve that goal.”
The department said the extra funding was made possible by savings from recent reform efforts.
VA officials also pointed to other accomplishments in 2025, including the opening of 16 new health care clinics nationwide, record numbers of disability claims processed and expanded appointment availability outside normal hours.
