Tuscaloosa Woman, Baby Killed In Fiery Crash Near West Blocton

A Tuscaloosa woman and an infant passenger were killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision in Bibb County.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa woman and an infant passenger were killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision in Bibb County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 24-year-old Donshay M. Burton was driving a 2025 Kia K4 when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2019 Kia Sorento driven by a West Blocton resident.

Following the collision, Burton’s vehicle caught fire. She and her 7-month-old passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The West Blocton native driving the other vehicle sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.

The crash occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday on Bibb County Road 9 near Vance Road, about three miles west of West Blocton.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
