A Tuscaloosa woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 11 near Cedar Cove Loop Road.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 11 near Cedar Cove Loop Road.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, when a 2002 GMC Yukon driven by a Cottondale man left the roadway and struck an embankment.

Tresda M. Caddell, 38, was a passenger in the vehicle and was ejected from the GMC when it overturned and struck a utility pole.

Caddell, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was not injured.

The crash occurred approximately two miles east of Coaling in Tuscaloosa County and remains under investigation.
