Tuscaloosa's Tim Parker Jr. To Be Inducted Into Alabama Business Hall Of Fame
Parker will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame as part of its Class of 2025.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa's Tim M. Parker Jr., a longtime leader in the commodities transportation industry and a prominent figure in public service and civic life, will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame as part of its Class of 2025.

Parker, chairman of Parker Towing Company in Tuscaloosa, is one of six inductees who will be honored during the annual ceremony on Nov. 13 at Haven in downtown Birmingham.

The Hall of Fame is housed in Hewson Hall at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business, which organizes the event.
A 1966 graduate of UA with a degree in business administration, Parker has guided Parker Towing into one of the region’s key commodities transportation companies.

The business ships bulk materials such as coal, grain, cement, and petroleum products throughout the Southeast and along the Gulf Coast.
Parker’s business leadership is matched by a career of public service. He served three terms in the Alabama Legislature beginning in 1990 and has held leadership roles with the Alabama State Port Authority, Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International’s advisory board.
A U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, Parker has also been deeply involved in community efforts, including chairing the United Way of Tuscaloosa and earning the Alexis De Tocqueville Society’s Family of the Year honor in 2014. He was named UA’s Distinguished Alumnus in 2016 and was recognized as the Tuscaloosa Civitan Club’s Citizen of the Year in 2019.
Parker and his wife have one son and four grandchildren.
