Two Arrested After Man Shot At Tuscaloosa Apartment Complex

Two Tuscaloosa residents have been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot multiple times at Creekwood Village Apartments

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Two Tuscaloosa residents have been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot multiple times at Creekwood Village Apartments early Sunday morning.

Captain Mary Sellers of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told local media that Tuscaloosa Police responded to the apartment complex on 40th Avenue around 3:30 a.m. after a 31-year-old man called 911 to report that he had been shot.

"After the shooting, he ran over to Westgate Apartments where he made the call," Sellers said. "When police arrived, they found the victim had been shot multiple times."

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, Sellers said, and was treated at a local hospital, where he remains in stable but serious condition.

Sellers went on to say that the investigators found the shooting occurred in front of one of the apartment buildings.

After two suspects were identified in the initial investigation following the shooting, Tanesha Thomas, 32, and David Waller III, 20, were both were charged with attempted murder.

A judge has yet to set bond for either suspect.

Sellers said the shooting was the result of an ongoing issue between the victim and the two suspects.
