He then said the investigation was ongoing and decline to provide further details.

The second shooting occurred at Valmont Industries on Investigator Dornell Cousette Street at approximately 8:17 p.m.

Kennedy said a male victim employee was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a subject who shot into the vehicle several times, striking the victim.

"The victim was able to retreat back into the business for aid and the suspect fled," Kennedy said. "The victim’s injuries are serious but not considered life-threatening."

He then said multiple units from the Tuscaloosa Police Department and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office saturated the area and were quickly able to determine the suspect had fled to a wooded area and set up a perimeter.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody and the weapon used in the shooting was also located after investigators utilized witnesses, area video, drones and K9 units.

Kennedy said the suspect was identified as 35-year-old Travis Moore — a former employee of the business who had been in an ongoing argument with the victim.

Kennedy also said Moore was found to be out on bond for a separate attempted murder arrest in 2023.

He was charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Moore is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
