UA System Offers Expedited Transfer Process To Birmingham-Southern College Students

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The University of Alabama System this week announced it will help students transition following news that Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) will close in May.

UA System leaders say it wants to ensure impacted students have the opportunity to remain in-state for their education, mentioning that it will offer an expedited transfer process to all eligible students currently enrolled at BSC.

A press release from the system said the expedited transfer process will be available at all UA System campuses β€” The University of Alabama, The University of Alabama at Birmingham and The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

BSC students interested in transferring to a UA System institution will receive waived application fees, expedited review and credit transfer processing.

Each UA System institution will also reportedly work with accepted students on an individual basis to create a financial aid package based on available funding and student eligibility.

Lastly, UA said deadlines will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate affected students.
