United Way Of West Alabama Announces $4.65M Fundraising Goal
UWWA on Tuesday kicked off its 2024 fundraising campaign by unveiling a goal of $4.65 million at the Bryant Conference Center.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The United Way of West Alabama (UWWA) on Tuesday kicked off its 2024 fundraising campaign by unveiling a goal of $4.65 million during a luncheon at the Bryant Conference Center.

“The goal is high, but so is the need,” Campaign Chair Brock Jones said. “We all know someone who has benefited from United Way or one of its partner agencies. One day, you may even find yourself or your family in need, and you will hope that these resources are available to you — and you will be so grateful when they are.”

The kickoff luncheon event featured a live performance by The Arc of Tuscaloosa's Sounds of Joy and a special set by the Brock Jones Band, which included members of UWWA’s ReUnited retiree network.
Big Al was also in attendance to boost excitement for the latest campaign.

Attendees were also shown a campaign video and received a personal testimony from a Family Counseling Service client, who shared her story of overcoming challenges thanks to UWWA’s help. Her narrative underscored the significant impact of UWWA’s services on local families.
“With inflation impacting the cost of groceries, housing, and healthcare, many donors are feeling the pinch,” UWWA President & CEO Jackie Wuska said. “But those who were already struggling are now facing even greater challenges.”
