University Of Alabama Gears Up For Week Of Homecoming Events

The week will also feature a variety of events, including the pep rally and bon fire, along with the homecoming parade

TUSCALOOSA, AL — It's officially homecoming week in Tuscaloosa, with the University of Alabama campus coming alive for the Crimson Tide's matchup against the Missouri Tigers.

This year's theme is a “New Era, Same Standard" — giving a nod to the historic coaching transition from the Nick Saban Era to the Kalen DeBoer Era.

The week will also feature a variety of events, including the homecoming parade, which begins approximately five hours before kickoff.

Crimson Tide legend and NFL Pro Bowler Shaun Alexander will serve as the grand marshal.

The parade will start at Hudson Poole Fine Jewelers on Greensboro Avenue before turning onto University Boulevard and making its way through campus.

As part of the celebrations, UA says the community can participate in the "Paint the Town Red" competition, where local businesses and student organizations will decorate their lawns. QR codes will be available for voting on favorite displays.

Event Schedule:

  • Sunday, Oct. 20 – Thursday, Oct. 24: Cash for Cans Fundraiser in partnership with Beat Auburn Beat Hunger.
  • Sunday, Oct. 20:
    • Roll Tide Run: Begins at 5 p.m., with check-in at 3:30 p.m. and warm-up at 4:30 p.m. at the Quad near Autherine Lucy Hall. Open to alumni and community members.
    • Homecoming Kick-Off Event: 6 p.m., University of Alabama Student Center Lawn. This free event includes a Silent Disco at 7 p.m., along with food, games, DIY activities, and a photo booth.
    • Spades and Lawn Games Tournament: 6 p.m., Student Center Lawn (pre-registration required).
  • Monday, Oct. 21:
    • Breakfast with Big Al: 9-10 a.m., Student Center Plaza.
    • Bowling Competition: 6-8:30 p.m., Bowlero.
    • Free Open Student Bowling: 6-10 p.m., Bowlero (all UA students welcome).
  • Tuesday, Oct. 22:
    • Dodgeball Competition: 5:30 p.m., UREC Basketball Indoor Courts (South Gym).
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23:
    • Day of Service Event: Details TBD.
    • Flag Football Competition: Registration at 5 p.m.; competition begins at 5:30 p.m., UREC Intramural Fields.
  • Thursday, Oct. 24:
    • Choreography Competition: 6 p.m., Coleman Coliseum (tickets required).
  • Friday, Oct. 25:
    • Pep Rally, Bonfire, and Homecoming Queen Crowning: 6:30 p.m., the Quad.
    • Step Show: 8 p.m., Coleman Coliseum (tickets required). This year marks the 50th anniversary of this event, sponsored by the National Panhellenic Council.
  • Saturday, Oct. 26: Missouri vs. Alabama, with kickoff set for 2:45 p.m.
