Eighteen University of Alabama graduates will take the field Monday night as the Crimson Tide meets the Georgia Bulldogs for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The group includes Phidarian Mathis, who was named a permanent team captain, and Brian Robinson Jr., who earned Offensive MVP in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 86th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

The Crimson Tide football team features three student-athletes who have earned multiple degrees from the Capstone. Starters Slade Bolden and Chris Owens have each earned their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, while Daniel Wright has earned two bachelor’s degrees.

Since 2013, UA football student-athletes have earned 217 undergraduate and graduate degrees before playing their final game for the Crimson Tide.
