UPDATE: One Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting In Tuscaloosa
TPD confirms that one person was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says one person was killed during an officer-involved shooting in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media in an update Wednesday afternoon that at 12:05 p.m., two Tuscaloosa Police officers initiated a traffic stop as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

She went on to say that the driver pulled over on James I. Harrison Parkway near Hargrove Road before shots were fired during the interaction.
Taylor said the gunfire resulted in the death of a passenger in the vehicle.

The individual killed has not been publicly identified as of the publication of this story.
The case is being investigated by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, with officers not employed by the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
