TUSCALOOSA, AL — School system leaders and other academic institutions in Tuscaloosa County have been monitoring the possibility of winter weather Monday night into Tuesday morning, so here's a look at all of the latest updates.

- Tuscaloosa County School System: Closed Tuesday
- Tuscaloosa City Schools: Closed Tuesday.
- Shelton State Community College: Closed Tuesday.
- University of Alabama: Delayed operations on Tuesday, with classes canceled until 11 a.m.
- Stillman College: No announcement as of 3:30 p.m.
- The Tuscaloosa County Courthouse will not open until 10 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2024. If you were summoned for jury duty, please report at 10 a.m.

- The City of Tuscaloosa has announced all garbage routes will be delayed by one day.
The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham says those in Tuscaloosa County can expect rain showers and freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet before 11 p.m.
Freezing rain and sleet will be likely between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. with a low of around 16 degrees.

Meteorologists expect new ice accumulation of less than 0.1 of an inch possible, with little or no sleet accumulation expected.
