"The subjects involved were visiting downtown clubs and bars, and had their vehicle parked in the hotel’s parking lot," Kennedy said. "The suspect was found to be friends with the victim, and during a verbal altercation, retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, and shot the victim one time. The shooting was witnessed by multiple people."

Kennedy then said 18-year-old Jackson Luke Overton of Winfield, was charged with murder and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
