- On Thursday, Alaska Native models showcased the work of Native designers during the Anchorage Museum's Far North Fashion Show. The symposium brought together hundreds from the Lower 48 and circumpolar north. (Anchorage Daily News)
- A woman and her dog died after being struck by a southbound Alaska Railroad train near Bird Point on Wednesday afternoon. Two women and four dogs were walking along the tracks near a curve when the train, originating from Anchorage and headed to Whittier, struck one of the women and a dog. - Last weekend, the University of Alaska Anchorage's Symphony of Sounds concert returned to the Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.
