Anchorage Chamber Of Commerce: General Michael Garrett To Be Keynote Speaker At 45th Annual Salute To The Military

The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska is pleased to announce that General Michael Garrett, Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command, will be the keynote speaker at the 45th Annual Salute to the Military. This event is an annual celebration of Alaska’s Junior Enlisted Military and will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Egan Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

This evening is set aside to honor twelve of Alaska’s most outstanding junior enlisted Armed Service members, the Military Spouse of the Year and the Bobby Alexander Civic Leader of the Year. One outstanding member is chosen from each branch of the United States military in Alaska, including active duty, Guard and Reserves. These service members have exemplified integrity and service before self throughout their military careers.

“We are honored to welcome General Garrett to help us continue this 45-year tradition of celebrating our junior enlisted Armed Service members and their outstanding achievements,” stated Keith Manternach, Board Chair, Armed Services YMCA of Alaska. “We look forward to this great evening as we recognize some of the best in our military family and hope that many in our community can join us.”

More information about Salute to the Military can be found at www.asymca.org/alaska-salute. Tickets to the event are $50 for members currently serving in the military, guard, or reserves. Tickets are $100 for other attendees. A table of 10 can be purchased for $1,000.
