Anchorage Crash Leaves Youth Dead; 2 Adults, 3 Children Hurt

A head-on collision in Anchorage left a youth dead, and injured two adults three other children, police say.

ANCHORAGE, AK — A head-on collision in Anchorage left a youth dead, and injured two adults and three other children, police said.

Around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, a Toyota Corolla heading south on New Seward Highway collided with a Ford F150 pickup truck heading in the opposite direction, police said. The crash happened near Mile 108.5.

The youth who was driving the car died at the scene. His name will not be released.

The man driving the pickup was taken to a hospital by medics, along with a woman and three children who were also in the truck. They were expected to survive their injuries, police said.

One lane on the highway reopened with alternating traffic flow around 5 a.m. Thursday.
