Here are the top three stories today in Anchorage:
- Kathryn Hoffer, concertmaster of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, has retired after 40 years. Hoffer performed her final concert earlier this month. She was the second concertmaster of the 76-year-old Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. (The Violin Channel)
- Amanda Moser, the Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s executive director, is leaving her position for a role with Alaskans For Better Elections. Read this article to learn about her visions for Downtown and what the job was like for her. (Subscription: Anchorage Daily News)
- An Eagle River High School student was honored with a national award for leadership and volunteerism. Jaeoni Amaker has maintained a strong record of volunteerism, school and community activism, and implementing solutions to solve problems, which were the criteria for winning the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award.
