🌱 District 1 Filing Begins Tuesday + Drug Take-Back Day In Anchorage

  1. Itching for something fun to do this weekend? Check out these exciting events across Anchorage! From Broadway to concerts to open mic jams, there's something for everyone taking place around the city. (Anchorage Press)
  2. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, candidates seeking to represent the newly expanded District 1 on the Anchorage Assembly can begin filing. The filing deadline is May 10 at 5:00 p.m., after which time, a full list of candidates will be posted online. Only residents who live in District 1 can vote in the upcoming election; ballots will be sent via mail on May 31. (Anchorage Daily News)
  3. Today, Apr. 30, join the Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement for Drug Take-Back Day. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., locations will be staffed around Alaska where the public can anonymously bring unused, unwanted, or unneeded legal prescription medication. Anchorage residents can visit Alaska Regional Hospital, Providence Alaska Medical Center, and Fred Meyer locations at Abbot and Muldoon to drop off their medication. (Facebook)
