Here are the top three stories today in Anchorage:

  1. On Sunday, the Anchorage Office of Emergency Management lifted an evacuation order for residents of the Eagle River area affected by Thursday’s avalanche. The disaster left 100 homes without power. The snow removal process is expected to take a couple of weeks. (CNN)
  2. In the North American Hockey League, the Anchorage Wolverines swept Kenai River Brown Bears with a 7-2 victory on Saturday. The win puts the junior hockey team in contention for the playoffs. (Anchorage Daily News)
  3. Anchorage municipal elections are seeing a surge in donations ahead of voting on Apr. 6. Observers attribute the rush of cash to a highly partisan atmosphere and the relaxing of local campaign finance laws. (Anchorage Daily News)
