Robert Service High School alumna Reni Park has been selected for the prestigious Television Academy Foundation Internship program. She is one of 40 students chosen by Television Academy members from across the U.S. for the 2025 Summer Internship program. The Foundation offers paid internships at top Hollywood studios and production companies annually to college students nationwide.

Park will be a junior this fall at the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita, California, majoring in character animation. She will be an intern this summer in the hand-drawn animation production department at Titmouse, an independent award-winning animation production company, in Los Angeles, Californa, through the Foundation’s program.

“When I found out I was chosen for this internship program, I was genuinely blown away and so incredibly grateful,” said Park. “To think that the Television Academy members would recognize my work and give this chance to me makes me even more motivated to keep on pressing forward and advance my skills as an artist. I can’t wait to see how much more I will grow during this internship.

“I am most excited about being able to work at Titmouse, which is a studio I greatly admire,” said Park. “I can’t wait to witness the behind the scenes of how they create my favorite animated media. As someone who wants to join the animation industry as a storyboard artist, it will be an invaluable experience to witness how the animation pipeline works its magic in real time as well as assist its progress as a 2D production intern.

“Animated shows like Arcane, Avatar the Last Airbender, Castlevania and The Legend of Vox Machina are ultimately my main motivations and inspirations for wanting to pursue a career in television,” said Park. “Thanks to the flexibility that TV series have, it grants the writers and artists more freedom to expand on the [animated] world and its characters’ arcs, which is something I live for as an artist. I want to be a part of a crew that brings these characters and their journeys to life.

“As someone who grew up in an isolated town in Alaska, it was hard to find resources to learn about animation and how to break into that industry,” continued Park. “However, thanks to my obsession and the amazing magic of the internet, I was able to find and take online courses to hone my skills as well as befriend lots of fellow artists that I still keep in touch with till this day! Even though I didn’t grow up in an in-person bustling community of artists, it was a nice lesson to learn that even someone from the frozen tundra could work their way to achieve their dreams.

“My ultimate career aspiration is to become an action storyboard artist for a cinematic television show,” said Park. “Whether that means [story] boarding intense fight scenes, planning dynamic musical dances or capturing a heartfelt moment between two characters, I would love to be part of a project that gives me the ability to live vicariously through its characters.”

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Park attended Robert Service High School in Anchorage.
