Recruitment and Retention of
Alaska Natives into Nursing (RRANN)
University of Alaska President Pat Pitney will deliver the 2022 State of the University
address Thursday, March 3 in Juneau. The address will begin at 12 p.m. and will be available to watch live on the president's State of the University page as well as on Gavel Alaska live online.
The address will highlight the many points of pride and areas of success across the
system including the key role the UA System plays in building a home-grown workforce
for Alaska; the importance of cutting edge research that addresses Alaska’s and the
world’s urgent challenges; and the work the three universities are doing to promote
inclusion and success of Alaska Native students and faculty.Â
This will be Pitney’s second State of the University address since being appointed
in 2020 as interim president, and will be her first as the university system’s 17th
president. The University of Alaska Board of Regents appointed Pitney to the position
on Feb. 25.
