1 Dead In Phoenix 4-Vehicle Collision
One Phoenix driver is dead Tuesday after his vehicle struck another vehicle, causing the vehicles to spin and hit two additional vehicles.
PHOENIX – A vehicular collision involving four cars left one motorist dead this morning. Just before 7 a.m. Tuesday, Stephen Coe, 77, was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima north in the left turn lane on Cave Creek Road. While attempting to turn left, Coe neglected to yield to an oncoming southbound 2007 Toyota RAV4 driven by a 61-year-old woman. Their two vehicles struck each other, then both vehicles spun and hit two additional vehicles, a 2007 Mazda 3 and a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500.
Coe was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The 61-year-old driver whose car he first hit was taken to the hospital too, having suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old male Mazda 3 driver and the 45-year-old male Chevy driver were not injured.
Police continue to investigate and believe that impairment wasn’t a factor in the incident.
