1 Dead In West Phoenix Crash; Street Racing Investigated
Police are investigating whether speed was a factor in a crash that killed a woman at Indian School Road and 91st Avenue in Phoenix Sunday.
PHOENIX, AZ — A fatal crash in west Phoenix Sunday may be related to street racing, Phoenix police said.
Charissa Coleman, 28, died in the crash, which occurred just before 9:30 p.m. at 91st Avenue and Indian School Road, according to police.
An unidentified 34-year-old man hit Coleman's SUV and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The man was driving an Infiniti two-door sedan at a high rate of speed on Indian School Road and struck Coleman's Jeep Patriot as she was making a left-hand turn onto 91st Avenue, according to police.
Police are considering what charges, if any, to bring against the man once he's released from the hospital, police said.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the Infiniti and a black Chevy Camaro were traveling side by side at a high rate of speed when the Infiniti struck Coleman's Jeep, police said. The Camaro left the scene, police said.
