2 Dead In What Chandler Police Suspect Was Murder-Suicide

A woman and a man, both in their 70s, were found dead Sunday morning, according to Chandler police.

CHANDLER, AZ — A woman and a man in Chandler are both death in what investigators suspected was a murder-suicide, according to Chandler Police.

Sheldon Butler, 76, and his wife, Linda Butler, 74, were found dead around 6:30 a.m. Sunday in their house near the intersection of Gilbert Road and Hunt Highway, police said.

They each appeared to have been killed by a single gunshot, according to police.

Police had received a call from Sheldon Butler saying he had shot his wife, police said.

Police had not determined a motive for the shooting as of Monday.
