5 Phoenix Nonprofits That Need Your Giving Tuesday 2019 Donations

These 5 Phoenix area nonprofits are asking for assistance this Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3. Can you help?

PHOENIX, AZ — Right on the heels of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Giving Tuesday, tomorrow, Dec. 3. Giving Tuesday falls on the first Tuesday of December since its inception in 2012, and givingtuesday.org describes it as a “global generosity movement” to help people and organizations “transform their communities and the world.” While we can help entities across the world by entering a URL and pushing a couple of keyboard buttons, we can also make a difference locally, right here in Phoenix. Here are 5 Phoenix area nonprofits asking the public to think about donating to them on Giving Tuesday.

  1. Any Giving Tuesday donations to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital will be given a triple match Dec. 3, courtesy of the Arizona Cardinals and the Arizona Coyotes teams. That means your donation will yield three times as much good in helping more children receive “world-class care” at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, according to the hospital’s Facebook page. Phoenix Children’s Hospital has focused on giving kids and their families healing, hope and quality healthcare since 1983. To make a donation Dec. 3, access their website.
  2. The Phoenix Dream Center’s mission is to rescue and rebuild human trafficking survivors. A spokesperson at the organization reported that Facebook is matching all Giving Tuesday donations to the center, beginning at 5 a.m. Pacific/8 a.m. Eastern Dec. 3. The Phoenix Dream Center also provides community housing for “families in foster care crisis” and for youth aging out of the foster care system, while promoting independence through spiritual nourishment and faith support groups. They also serve the homeless population and provide addiction recovery support. To find out more about the Phoenix Dream Center or to make a Giving Tuesday donation, visit their website.
  3. Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels aims “to bring dignity and comfort into the harsh world of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” the organization’s website says. The Phoenix nonprofit strives to achieve that by assisting families in having more of a choice and a voice in the healthcare system. They aim to do this by encouraging medical staff to give person-centered healthcare to kids and to show more empathy to children and families. Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels also provides comforting gifts to kids with cancer or blood-related medical conditions. You can learn more about Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels here or donate at this link.
  4. U.S. VETS-Phoenix has been helping veterans since Dec. 2001 with transitional and permanent housing. The organization also provides financial aid to veterans’ families. US.VETS-Phoenix additionally offers case management, employment activities, meals and group and individual counseling, all to about 1,200 veterans. Learn more about the organization on their website, or make an online Giving Tuesday donation here.
  5. Phoenix’s Animals Benefit Club is a nonprofit no-kill animal rescue and shelter that takes in many animals who were rejected for rehabilitation and medical treatment by other animal facilities, their website says. The organization also rescues homeless felines and canines from Phoenix streets. Animals Benefit Club is funded by grants and donations and is run by a 100 percent volunteer staff.
