American Airlines Will Fly Direct To Chihuahua Starting December
American Airlines says there will be daily routes, all year long. Sky Harbor now offers direct travel to 10 Mexican cities.

PHOENIX, AZ - Starting December, American Airlines will offer direct flights from Sky Harbor to Chihuahua, marking the airline's first line connecting Arizona's capital with Mexico's largest state.
American Airlines announced Thursday that there will be daily routes, all year long starting Dec. 18. A Bombardier CRJ-700 with a capacity of 65 to 76 seats will serve as the aircraft.
Sky Harbor now offers direct travel to 10 Mexican cities.

The flight's announcement comes as American is making a push to increase service from its top U.S. hubs to Mexico and the Caribbean. It is adding seasonal service from Dallas to Acapulco and Huatulco as well as new flights to the Caribbean islands of Grenada, St. Thomas, Bermuda and St. Lucia from its hubs in Charlotte, Dallas, New York and Chicago.
American offers more service between the U.S. and Mexico than any other airline with up to 85 daily flights to 22 cities, according the the airline website.

Besides the flight to Mexico, American also announced a new direct route from Phoenix to Rapid City, South Dakota. This year-round flight will start Sept. 4 and will operate daily.American plans to use a 50-seat CRJ-200 for the Phoenix to Rapid City route.
