AZ Monsoon: Strong Storms Bringing 2 Inches Of Rain Possible; NWS
A strong monsoon will bring upwards of two inches of rain between Thursday and Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

PHOENIX, AZ — Another monsoon pattern is slated to move over the Valley this week, dropping upwards of two inches of rain, the National Weather Service said.
The storms, which are expected to fire up on Thursday over high terrain regions east of the Valley, will bringing elevated flash flooding and high winds to the region.
Rainfall amounts will vary by location, with between an inch and two inches possible, though estimates are lower than with the storm system that passed through the area last weekend, the service said.

There's currently a 43 percent chance of rain on Friday in Phoenix, with higher precipitation chances in higher terrain areas, like Wickenburg (55 percent); Tucson (47 percent); Globe (52 percent); Tonto Basin (53 percent); and Flagstaff (80 percent).
Much of the Valley has received at least an inch of rain over the past seven days, thanks to the last monsoon to roll through, bolstering the region's rainfall totals for the year.

The service's seven-day forecast gives Phoenix a 40 percent chance of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
So far this monsoon, Phoenix has received 1.84 inches of rain at the service's Sky Harbor weather station, which is more than the last two monsoons combined.
