Badge Bash 2025 Raises Record-Breaking $321,000 to Support Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council
The Council's signature fundraiser helps increase girls' access to STEM, outdoor adventure, life skills and entrepreneurship programming.
Badge Bash, Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council's (GSACPC) signature fundraising celebration, raised a record-breaking $321,000 to support programming for more than 12,000 girls across central and northern Arizona. The sold-out event welcomed 500 attendees to The Bob & Renee Parsons Leadership Center for Girls and Women at Camp South Mountain for an unforgettable evening of interactive experiences and Girl Scout spirit.
Attendees from business, government, education, nonprofit and more backgrounds formed their own Girl Scout “troops" and filled their sashes with custom badges by participating in engaging troop activities. Attendees then gathered under the stars for a special dinner and live auction in support of GSACPC’s transformative programs for girls.
“Badge Bash 2025 was an incredible night for local Girl Scouts and a testament to our community’s belief in what girls can achieve when they are given access and opportunity," says Mary Mitchell, co-CEO of GSACPC. "Thanks to the direct support of these individuals and businesses, even more girls across central and northern Arizona will now have the chance to explore STEM, outdoor adventure, life skills and entrepreneurship programs.”
During the evening, GSACPC honored four individuals with the 2025 Promise Award in recognition of their commitment to serving and uplifting girls and youth across Arizona:
Devin Booker
An NBA player for the Phoenix Suns and dedicated philanthropist, Booker continues to uplift youth and Girl Scout programs through his Starting Five Initiative, providing a $100,000 grant in 2021 to replace a vandalized mini-bus and ensure continued access to programs, as well as supporting the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Deanna Salazar
A former Girl Scout and retired chief administrative officer and general counsel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Salazar is honored for her lifelong dedication to mentorship, education and equity. She empowers young women to pursue leadership and service through her ongoing mentorship efforts.
Teri Twarkins Kelley
A lifelong Girl Scout, former board chair, donor and current chair of the GSACPC Investment Committee, Kelley has championed girls and women through decades of service. As a senior partner at Morgan Stanley, she exemplifies leadership, expertise and a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation.
Jennifer Schuitemaker
Schuitemaker empowers female entrepreneurship and clean, nourishing desserts as the founder of Sweet N Skinny. She has created a unique space in the food and wellness industry and inspires girls and women to pursue their passions with confidence.
“This year’s Promise Award Honorees showcase the courage, confidence and character that we strive to instill in every Girl Scout,” says Christina Spicer, co-CEO of GSACPC. “Each of these respected community leaders has inspired the next generation to lead by making their own unique path and championing girls along the way.”
