Cardinals' DeAndre Hopkins Suspended 6 Games Under PED Policy: Report
Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been suspended by the NFL for a violation of the league's performance enhancing drugs policy.
PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been handed a six-game suspension by the NFL for a violation of the league's performance enhancing drug policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
In two seasons with the Cardinals, Hopkins has caught 107 passes for 1,979 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro in 2020, but he missed seven games last season with hamstring and knee injuries.
The Cardinals traded running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick and a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for Hopkins in March 2020. Hopkins was named first-team All-Pro each of his final three seasons with Houston.

The Cardinals' receiving room will look much different when Arizona opens the 2022 season. Before Hopkins' suspension, former Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March. In Friday's NFL Draft, Arizona sent the 23rd overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for receiver Marquise Brown and a third-round pick (No. 100 overall).
