The man who was shot to death was suspected of shooting a gun several times inside and outside his house before police arrived, police said.

PHOENIX, AZ — A man who was suspected of shooting a gun several times inside and outside his house during a domestic dispute was shot to death by Phoenix police Sunday evening, according to police.

The 52-year-old man has not been publicly identified, according to police.

Just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, a domestic dispute was reported at a house near 24th Street and Cactus Road, according to police.

When police arrived, the man was outside the house and was waving the gun around, police said. Police told the man to drop the gun, but instead he pointed it at them, according to police.

It was then that police shot the man, police said. The man died at the scene from his injuries.
