Donate Cans On Wednesdays, Get Free Arizona State Fair Admission
The Arizona State Fair is trading on-site six-can food donations for free admission to the fair Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m.

PHOENIX – Arizona State Fair-goers can get in free on Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m. if they donate six cans of food for each free admission and give their cans to St. Mary’s Food Bank staff outside the fair’s gates. The money saved on admission through canned food donations gives back to the community, and can also mean more money kept in the pockets to spend on fair food, fun and games.
But St. Mary’s doesn’t take everything. They can’t accept condiments, pet food, bottled water or ramen, for example. Instead, they recommend bring canned foods such as meats, veggies and fruits, peanut butter and more.
This time of year, St. Mary’s donated food supply is very depleted, St. Mary’s Food Bank spokesman Jerry Brown told Fox10Phoenix.com. “We’re at our low point coming out of the summer, and we really need to restock to make sure that we can say yes to everyone during the holiday season. We have Thanksgiving coming up … so this really gets us started,” he explained.

St. Mary’s Food Bank representatives are stationed at every fair entrance on Wednesdays during the appointed hours to receive the canned donations, and will give donors a voucher to show to Arizona State Fair staff so donors can get in free.
