1. Protecting and serving even the cutest Phoenix residents. A trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety discovered a kitten near the median on I-10 in November. The kitten had to undergo a leg amputation but an update revealed the cat is now healthy and living with her rescuer, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. 2. Multiple students became ill after coming into contact with a pesticide at a Phoenix elementary school. According to firefighters, nearly a dozen children at Midtown Primary School on 19th Avenue reported feeling sick. Investigators say the children came into contact with a weed killer that was sprayed close to playground woodchips. As of Tuesday afternoon, no children have been hospitalized. (WSAZ)
3. A mother is demanding answers after her son died in the custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. According to officials, the man, 41-year-old Adam Delk, was in an armed confrontation with another driver, who had hit his car. Delk's mother said that he had fired a gun at the other driver in self-defense, after being approached with a knife. Delk was never convicted but spent nearly two years behind bars before attorneys could have his bond reduced. Merely hours before he was set to go home, Delk's mother received a call that he had died. (12news.com KPNX)
