Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- On Sunday, Mar. 19, police responded to reports around midnight of a fatal stabbing near Indian School Road and 5th Avenue in Phoenix. After police arrived on the scene, they found an unidentified man lying on the ground with several stab wounds and sent him to a hospital nearby where he later succumbed to his injuries. There have been no suspects identified in the case yet. (Arizona's Family)
- Maricopa County officially approved funding for a temporary emergency shelter service for the homeless population nearby in Surprise and surrounding areas. The funds are designed to add more flexible shelters and offer support services to help with a variety of issues involving those experiencing homelessness. The agreement runs through Jun. 10 and will allocate $55,000 in new funds to the county. (KTAR.com)
- Pour Decisions Patio and Kitchen, a new megabar in the heart of nearby Old Town Scottsdale will officially celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, Mar. 22. The event will commence at 6:30 p.m. and include a welcome drink, complimentary passed bar bites, giveaways, and live music by Rock Lobster. The 10,000-square-foot restaurant features two buildings that are connected by an outdoor patio with an expansive rooftop and amazing views of Camelback Mountain. (Phoenix New Times)
