Heat Wave Headed For Phoenix This Weekend, Take Caution: NWS
The Phoenix metro area is expected to reach temperatures in excess of 100 degrees this weekend, possibly setting a record.
PHOENIX, AZ — Blazing heat is headed for the Valley this weekend, and the National Weather Service is advising Phoenix residents to be prepared.
The weather service is forecasting seasonably warm temperatures through Thursday, with increasing heat through the weekend and possible record-breaking highs on Sunday in the Phoenix area.
Highs Tuesday through Thursday are expected to be in the upper 80s and lower 90s, with an expected high of 98 degrees on Friday, the weather service predicted. The whole week is expected to be clear, with breezy conditions on Wednesday.

Phoenix will be sizzling on Saturday, with a high around 104 degrees, and highs of 106 on Sunday and Monday. Overnight lows those days are expected to be in the lower 70s.

- Outdoor workers should remember to stay hydrated and to take regular breaks in the shade.
- Check in on the elderly, sick and those without air conditioning.
- Never leave children or pets unattended inside vehicles, and always take an extra look inside your vehicle before locking it.
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities and stay hydrated.
