Hit And Run Leaves Woman Injured, Plate-Less Vehicle Abandoned
A Phoenix pedestrian was struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run Wednesday. The abandoned SUV, with no license plate, was found later by police.
PHOENIX, AZ – A hit-and-run accident occurred Wednesday when a 36-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a four-door 2006 Range Rover near 5500 S. Central Ave. in Phoenix. The accident happened shortly before midnight as the woman crossed from east to west mid-block, not in a crosswalk. The Range Rover driver was headed northbound at the time of the collision.
The Range Rover driver paused briefly after the collision, then drove away northbound. Police later found the vehicle in a parking lot, abandoned near 5200 S. Central Ave., with its license plate removed. Meanwhile, the victim sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
