In January, AZ Biz Owners Can Start E-Filing Their Tax Returns

The Department of Revenue will begin taking e-filed tax returns from Arizona companies in 2020. The next year, biz e-filing is required.

ARIZONA — In the 2018 tax year for Arizona taxpayers, 77 percent of transaction privilege tax returns and 83 percent of individual tax returns were filed electronically. Beginning in January, Arizona business owners will be able to join the e-filing trend for the tax year 2019, providing a more secure and efficient method of submitting tax returns, an Arizona Department of Revenue spokesperson said.

The Department recently finished final system testing so that business owners in January can start filing their partnership and corporate tax returns online.

E-filing 2019 tax year returns is optional for business owners in 2020. However, business tax return e-filing is required for corporations for tax year 2020 returns that will be filed in 2021, as specified by 2017 legislation.
