PHOENIX, AZ — The City of Phoenix and its partner organizations are hosting a job fair Tuesday to hire workers for an upcoming multi-year light rail construction project. Workers will be hired on the spot for “high-quality” construction jobs, City of Phoenix officials say.

The hiring event will be held 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Arizona@Work South Phoenix Job Center at 4635 S. Central Ave. The job fair will provide job opportunities to help construct the light rail South Central Extension/Downtown Hub.

The project’s general contractor, Kiewit Infrastructure West, will hire construction workers at the event to fill a variety of light rail positions including heavy equipment operators and laborers. Kiewit also hosts union apprenticeship opportunities that will aid in construction worker training.
