John McCain Latest: Joe Biden Visits Arizona, Says Cindy McCain
McCain's son-in-law tweeted over the weekend that the senator made him promise to take care of his daughter. He then deleted the tweet.

PHOENIX, AZ – They may have spent their careers on opposite sides of the aisle, but Sen. John McCain and Joe Biden are good friends. Over the weekend, it appears that Biden traveled down to Arizona to visit McCain, who is battling an aggressive form of brain cancer.
"Enjoyed a wonderful visit from @JoeBiden yesterday," John's wife, Cindy, tweeted on Monday. "Such good family friends. Enjoyed catching up!"
McCain has been recuperating at his home outside of Sedona since last December. (Get Phoenix Patch's daily newsletter and real-time news alerts. Or, find your local Patch here and subscribe).

When Biden's wife and daughter were killed in a crash in the early 70s, McCain cared for Biden's then-young son, Beau.
Beau later died of the same brain cancer that McCain has.
BIDEN COMFORTS MCCAIN'S DAUGHTER
Last December, when Biden released a book about his son, he made an appearance on The View, which McCain's daughter, Meghan, co-hosts.
It was an emotional appearance in which Biden came to McCain's side to comfort her as she started tearing up, talking about her dad and cancer.
"I couldn't get through your book . . . your son Beau had the same cancer that my father was diagnosed with six months ago," McCain said, tearing up. "I think about Beau almost every day and I was told that this doesn't get easier but you cultivate the tools to work with this and live with this.
"I know you and your family have been through a tragedy that I haven't conceived of.
"What would you tell people," she said, before Biden got out of his seat. "It's not about me, it's about everyone with cancer," she protested as the former vice president sat down next to her and held her hand.
"One of the things that gave Beau courage — my word — was John," Biden said. "Your dad, you may remember when you were a kid, your dad took care of my Beau."
He went on to say that Beau, who was just 46 years old when he died, talked about the Arizona senator's courage, not about illness. Biden then turned to the audience, reassuring anyone who knows someone diagnosed with glioblastoma, which he said was "as bad as it gets," that there are breakthroughs happening.
He pointed to research being done at the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center and treatment that was used on his own son.
"So there is hope and if any body can make it, your dad — her dad is one of my best friends," he told the audience.
"Her dad goes after me hammer and tong, we're like two brothers who were somehow raised by different fathers or something because of our points of view," Biden joked making McCain break out in laughter.
He then told McCain that there's one thing Beau insisted on that her dad will insist on too and that is having hope.
John McCain thanked Biden a the time for his words on Twitter "for serving as an example & source of strength for my own family."
"JOHN HUGGED ME"
Meanwhile, on Saturday night, McCain's son-in-law – conservative commentator Ben Domenech who married Meghan last year – tweeted that McCain asked him to take care of Meghan.
"John hugged me tonight," he wrote on Twitter. "He asked me to take care of Meghan. I said I would."
