Man Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal West Phoenix Crash

Andrew Friedlander, 34, was charged in connection with a fatal crash at 91st Avenue and Indian School Road Sunday.

PHOENIX, AZ — A man was charged with manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a woman in west Phoenix Sunday, Phoenix police said.

Charissa Coleman, 28, died in the crash, which occurred just before 9:30 p.m. at 91st Avenue and Indian School Road, according to police.

Andrew Friedlander, 34, hit Coleman's SUV and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Friedlander was charged with manslaughter and is currently being held in jail on $200,000 bail, according to police.

If convicted of manslaughter, Friedlander faces between four and 10 years in prison.

Friedlander was driving an Infiniti two-door sedan at a high rate of speed on Indian School Road and struck Coleman's Jeep Patriot as she was making a left-hand turn onto 91st Avenue, according to police.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the Infiniti and a black Chevy Camaro were traveling side by side at a high rate of speed when the Infiniti struck Coleman's Jeep, police said. The Camaro left the scene, police said.
