Man Points Replica Handgun, Is Shot To Death By Real Gun: Police

The man pointed an airsoft gun at a man during an argument at a Phoenix gas station. The other man shot him with a real gun, police said.

PHOENIX, AZ — A man is dead after he pointed a replica handgun at another man during an argument, and the other man shot him with a real gun, according to Phoenix police.

Sergio Cruz, 31, was shot in the chest around 5 a.m. Sunday at a gas station near the intersection of Camelback Road and Black Canyon Highway, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, Cruz confronted the suspected shooter about a conflict between the other man and Cruz's loved one. Cruz pointed an airsoft gun that looked like a handgun at the man, police said. Then the man pulled out a real hand gun and shot Cruz, according to police.

As of Sunday, police had not made any arrests related to the shooting.
