Maricopa County COVID-19 Update: 5,570 New Cases, 165 More Deaths

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ — Maricopa County Public Health announced Tuesday that the county has seen 5,570 new cases and 165 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. These are cumulative totals representing Saturday, Sunday and Monday reporting.
This brings the total number of cases in the county to 492,492 and the total number of deaths in the county to 8,125 since Jan. 22, 2020.
The number of people who've been admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19 since the middle of last January stands at 34,172 or seven percent in Maricopa County. More than 2,100 people have been admitted to the intensive care unit.

Statewide, the Arizona Department of Public Health reported 4,381 additional new coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing the total to 787,268. The agency also reported an additional 231 deaths, bringing the total to 14,286.
In Maricopa County, 385,569 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered with 289,244 people receiving at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Almost 100,000 people have been fully vaccinated against the virus as of Tuesday.
