Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. A European-inspired coffee shop is set to open in nearby Scottsdale in August, bringing influences from Spain, southern France, and Italy. ZINGARA Coffee Shop, Bespoke Market, and Wine Bar will take over the old Walgreens on the northeast corner of Via Linda. When visiting this upscale coffee shop, guests can sip, savor and relax while enjoying delicious coffee and small bites. (Phoenix New Times)
  2. A man died on Saturday after falling and being hit by a car his girlfriend was driving in Phoenix. Police responded to a domestic violence call when they found 29-year-old Marceliano Herrera lying on the roadway, with his girlfriend providing aid. Police believe he was holding onto a passenger door handle when the vehicle moved, causing him to fall and be run over. (KTAR.com)
  3. Police are searching for a Minnesota fugitive nearby in Gilbert after a SWAT standoff. Police say they were called to the home where the fugitive was located, only for them to discover he wasn't at the home at all. Police are still searching for Paris Drake and believe he is armed and dangerous. (FOX 10 Phoenix)
