Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- The Phoenix Police Department is currently searching for two suspects that they believe were involved in a shooting that occurred on May 5. Surveillance footage has been released of two males fleeing the scene of the shooting that occurred a bit before midnight near the 43rd Street and Thomas Road bus stop. A man at the bus stop was shot several times, a stray bullet struck a car, and an adult and toddler were injured. (Arizona's Family)
- A 114-acre residential community has recently been approved to build up to 1,600 homes in northern Phoenix by the City of Phoenix Planning Commission. The housing project will have four different tiers involving different housing styles; the current plan is to build around 1,000 to 1,100 homes. Bela Flor is currently in the planning and coordinating stage with the city of Phoenix; once that is complete, the company is hoping to get the city council's approval in July. (Foothills Focus)
- A newly engaged couple has gone kennel to kennel searching for their three pups that were stolen from their Airbnb in Phoenix. The couple reported that their Airbnb near 12th Street and Dunlap Street was broken into last Friday and the three dogs — two micro-bulldogs and one service animal — were taken. The two have been to several animal rescues, and shelters, and placed flyers all throughout neighborhoods in the city requesting anyone help locate the dogs. Anyone with any information is asked to contactg the police. (Arizona's Family)
