Phoenix Judge Rosa Mroz Dies Days After Being Hit By A Car

Mroz was crossing the street on foot last week when police say a car didn't stop at a red light and hit the Maricopa County judge.

PHOENIX, AZ — Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Rosa Mroz died Saturday from injuries she suffered when a car hit her while she was crossing the street on foot last week, according to police.

Mroz, 56, was crossing the street near the intersection of Camelback Road and 56th Street around 9:15 a.m. last Tuesday when a Hyundai hit her, police said. She was taken to a local hospital in extremely critical condition and was pronounced dead on Saturday, according to police.

Police accused the driver of the Hyundai of not stopping for a red traffic light, police said in a news release.
